Helping people in BDO MENA English Server chat over the past year you see some regular questions from new and older players. I'll be posting a series of them this week to help me stop having to type the same answers repeatedly!

HOW DO I CHANGE THE SIZE OF THE FONT OR THE TYPE?

A little known fact is that this is indeed possible, not through in game settings but rather through a simple bit of folder and file editing.

The BDO standard font is a TrueType Font (TTF) and is interchangable with absolutely anything you find that is compatible, inculding Comic SANS! All you need is a copy of the font file you would like to use, which you can copy out of your /windows/fonts directory or download from many sites. No file editing or .ini editing required, here is what you do:

     1) In your main game folder (the folder that contains "bin", "bin64", etc.), create a new folder and name it prestringtable.

     2) In prestringtable, create a new folder and name it font.

     3) Rename the .ttf file of the font you want to use to pearl.ttf and place it in the font folder.

     4) Start/restart your client!

So basically, [BDO folder]->prestringtable->font->pearl.ttf If you are unsure how to find your [BDO folder] as a Steam Client right click the Black Desert Online link, click PROPERTIES, then LOCAL FILES, then BROWSE LOCAL FILES to open the directory. If you are on the Web Launcher, right click the icon you use to start the game, PROPERTIES, then SHORTCUT and OPEN FILE LOCATION.

Note : To change size you need to use a TTF file that is of larger or smaller base size that the standard TTF
