Upcoming All Character Skill Reset
Greetings, Adventurers.
As we shared in our recent GM Notes, we’re preparing a major overhaul of Black Desert’s combat system—including changes to damage calculations, Skill Add-ons, and damage ratios.
We’re aiming to roll out these updates as early as July 24 (Thu), or by July 31 (Thu) at the latest.
Given the scale of these changes, we’re working hard to ensure a smooth transition and the best possible experience for all our adventurers.
With this update, all characters will have their skills, add-ons, and presets reset.
This is necessary to ensure stability as we implement the new damage calculation rules. If any outdated add-ons remain in your presets, it could cause issues or instability, so a full reset is unavoidable. We appreciate your understanding as we make these important adjustments.

- The reset will take place during the July 24, 2025 (Thu) maintenance or July 31, 2025 (Thu) maintenance.

We understand that having to reconfigure your PvE characters, World Boss setups, and more can be a hassle. To help ease the transition, we’ll be providing helpful items and running special events during the reset period.
- Secret Book of Old Moon (30 Days)
All adventurers will receive a Secret Book of Old Moon (30 Days), letting you freely learn and reset skills, and change add-ons without using Memory Fragments.
- After using the item, you can set your skills and add-ons with the nearest Skill Instructor or via Menu (ESC) > Battle Arena NPC Tachros.
- Tip: You can enter the Battle Arena from anywhere at any time via Menu (ESC), and exit by clicking Battle Arena again.
- Item Copy & Caphras Stone Extraction Events (Lasting about a month)
With some major updates on the way, we’re launching an Item Copy event to give adventurers the chance to freely switch between and try out different classes.
We’re also bringing back the Caphras Stone Extraction event, which was recently held.
We hope this event will make it easier—and less stressful—for adventurers to prepare for the upcoming Sovereign Sub-weapon.
We understand that having to reset and reconfigure all your characters to match your playstyle is a big task, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
While these changes may take some getting used to, they’re designed to create a more balanced combat system and a more stable game environment for everyone. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we make these improvements.
