We’d like to announce the updates made to the Black Desert as of 2019, June 12th.

New Login Rewards

●  Leader of Xian Merchants the Encarotia Family that has been working on the sky road, Dwarf artisans from Gavinya Great Crater and the Old Moon Guild have created a new type of mount which can travel around Calpheon, Altinova and Valencia. It is known as the Sky Balloon.

You can purchase a ticket from NPC at the boarding station and get onboard the Sky Balloon.

- Calpheon : Kalix  

- Altinova : Lisam

- Valencia : Mason

You can purchase a ticket with 1 Black Stone (Weapon) or 1 Black Stone (Armor). Give the ticket to the boarding manager NPC and the Sky Balloon will arrive.

Maximum 2 adventurers can get onboard.

Once the Sky Balloon arrives, the drarf NPC will be temporarily unavailable to interact as he needs to prepare next Sky Balloon.

You can get off the Sky Balloon immediately after you get onboard. However, once it takes off, you will not be able to get off until it arrives at the destination.

Once the Sky Balloon arrives at its destination, you will automatically get off and the Sky Balloon will disappear.

New knowledge 'Pioneers of the Sky' has been added.

[Developer's Comment]

The Old Moon Sky Balloon has been designed in order to help new adventurers who have difficulty and suffer from inconvenience when travelling around the Black Desert World. You can travel between major cities with the Old Moon Sky Balloon. The Balloon travelling between Calpheon and Mediah will provide gorgeous sky view of the land where you travelled around before. Why don't you call your friend and leave together for the trip to the memory of the past?

Fixed the issue where the fairy's Miraculous Cheer skill would occasionally not work even when the HP and Resource become lower than set value on the Potion Setting window.

All classes

Fixed the graphical issue with eyelashes when characters fell a certain amount of distance.

 

Ranger

Fixed the issue where Stamina would recover during the cooldown for the Razor Wind skill.

 

Sorceress

Fixed the issue where Emergency Escape did not activate when pressing V while moving during the main weapon mode.

Fixed the issue where using the Night Crow skill towards a cliff while in Scythe mode would display an error message and bring the character back to its original location.

Fixed the issue where using the Flow: Night Crow skill on a hill would result in the character using another skill after showing a landing motion instead of showing the intended attack motion.

Fixed the issue where using the Night Crow skill in mid air 3 times while in Scythe mode and then using the skill immediately in the air again would result in showing a falling motion.

 

Berserker

Fixed the issue where Emergency Escape did not activate when pressing V while moving during the main weapon mode.

 

Tamer

Fixed the issue where Emergency Escape did not activate when pressing V while moving during the main weapon mode.

 

Witch, Wizard

Increased the speed at which the character switches from main weapon/awakening weapon combat stance to auto-move.

 

Valkyrie

Increased the speed at which the character switches from awakening weapon combat stance to auto-move.

 

MUSA

Increased the speed at which the character switches from main weapon/awakening weapon combat stance to auto-move.

 

Maehwa

Increased the speed at which the character switches from main weapon combat stance to auto-move.

 

Ninja

Increased the speed at which the character switches from main weapon combat stance to auto-move.

 

Kunoichi

Increased the speed at which the character switches from main weapon/awakening weapon combat stance to auto-move.

 

Striker, Mystic

The Stiffness effect for the skill Flow: Prey Hunt which activates automatically when used after having 30 Martial Spirit Shards will now be applied in PvE.

 

Striker

The direction of movement and effects should now match for the skill Endless Fight.

The camera perspective effect for the Fallout skill has been changed.

You can now use the Fist Fury skill when pressing S + RMB while in Gardbrace mode.

The range for the final hit for the Fist Fury skill has been reduced, which in turn will allow the attack to be more focused.

The transition to the Roaring Tiger skill while using Fist Fury has been improved to flow more naturally.

You can now use the Ferocious Assault skill by pressing W + RMB while in Gauntlet mode.

The attack range for the final hit of Ultima Crush has been increased, while the spread has been decreased, in order to make the attack more focused.

- The final 4th hit of Ultimate Crush has been changed from a wide attack to an attack which focuses on a target in front of you.

The location for the Echo Spirit which is summoned when hitting with the Ultimate Crush skill has been changed.

- The location has been changed so that it can attack where the Striker character is attacking.

The PVE damage for the Ultimate Crush skill has been increased like the following.

- 588% → 643%

- 707% → 799%

- 827% → 955%

- 945% → 1111%

The PVE damage for the Skull Crusher skill has been changed to deal 100% Critical hits.

Added a command which activates the Skull Crusher skill when pressing the F key while in the air during the Ferocious Assault skill.

The attack range for the Echo Spirit, which is summoned when using the Infernal Destruction skill, has been increased.

Fixed the issue where only 1 of the final hits for using the Land Buster skill while having learned the Infernal Destruction I & II has been fixed.

The spin PVE hit damage for the Infernal Destruction skill has been increased like the following.

- 538% x 4 → 699% x 4

- 618% x 6 → 803% x 6

- 709% x 6 → 921% x 6

- 800% x 6 → 1040% x 6

2-hit has been added for PVE hits for the Rampaging Predator skill.

The PVE damage for the Endless Fight skill has been increased like the following.

- 1-hit damage: 763% x 3 → 1066% x 3

- 2-hit damage: 610% x 3 → 959% x 3

Critical Hit Rate has been added to the PVE hit for Endless Explosion.

Added a command which combos 2-hits with Endless Fight when pressing LMB after the final hit with Endless Explosion.

When entering the commands for Flow: Mass Destruction and Ferocious Assault during the Endless Explosion skill, the skills will now be activated.

When using the following skills, other skills will now be activated more quickly than before.

- Ferocious Assault

- Rampaging Predator

The PVE damage for the Wolf's Fang skill's attack which pushes away the target in front has been increased.

- 51% x 4 → 255% x 4

- 79% x 4 → 397% x 4

- 107% x 4 → 539% x 4

- 136% x 4 → 681 % x 4

- 164% x 4 → 823% x 4

- 352% x 4 → 1230% x 4

The description for the explosive hit for the Wolf's Fang skill has been removed, and the description for the Flow: Prey Hunt effect has been added.

The number of hits for the Wolf's Fang skill's regular hit and Flow: Prey Hunt has been increased to 2 hits.

The camera perspective effect during the attacking motions for the Wolf's Fang skill has been changed.

[Developer's Comment]

Followed by the balance patch for Witch and Wizard applied after the last week maintenance, this week we applied PvE damage adjustment for Striker. We also received feedback from adventurers saying the skill combo was not smooth enough compared to other classes and we decided to make an improvement on the skill connection. We'll continue to make improvements on the character balance.

 

Mystic

Increased the speed at which the character switches from main weapon/awakening weapon combat stance to auto-move.

 

Dark Knight

Increased the speed at which the character switches from awakening weapon combat stance to auto-move.

 

Archer

Increased the speed at which the character switches from main weapon/awakening weapon combat stance to auto-move.

 

Lahn

The skill points (8) which was used to learn Earthly Pain I that you could learn through a quest have been returned.

- However, your maximum skill points will still remain the same and for those who reset skills since June 5th will not receive the 8 points.

 

Item
Following item has been added to the Amity Shop of NPC Srulk, the Wharf Manager in Port Epheria.

- Ship License : Srulk's Humble Fishing Boat

- You can use the Amity Shop of NPC Srulk with 300 or more amity points and need 300 or more amity points and 150,000 silvers if you want to purchase the ship license.

- Srulk’s Humble Fishing Boat has 1 available inventory and its durability is 20,000 which is lower than regular boat.
You now have to be Lv. 56 or higher to exchange the [Event] Shakatu's Seal with items.

You can now equip items from your Pearl Inventory even while moving.

The item descriptions for the items below have been revised to suit their names.

- Skilled Sailor's Clothes (Costume)

- Professional Sailor's Clothes (Costume)

Corrected information about the conditions for being able to accept the quest Materials for Skills, which is needed to acquire the knowledge Heating: Skilled.

The description for Asula's Weakened Magic Necklace has been revised.

Fixed the issue where the effect of Merv's Palette is applied when using the following item.

Monsters

The monsters from the regions below will now appear twice as fast after they die.

- Mediah: Shultz Guard, Hasrah Ancient Ruins

- Valencia: Bashim Base, Basilisk Den, Roud Sulfur Mine, Aakman Temple

- Kamasylvia: Forest Ronaros

- Drieghan: Tshira Ruins, Sherekhan Necropolis (during the day)

- Other: Sycraia Underwater Ruins (Upper zone)

The chances of obtaining the Dragon Scale Fossil by defeating the monsters below at Sherekhan Necropolis during the day have been increased sixfold.

You will now have a certain chance to obtain the Dragon Scale Fossil when defeating the following monsters at Sherekhan Necropolis during the night.

There is a higher chance to obtain the Dragon Scale Fossil at Sherekhan Necropolis during the night than during the day.

 - Nybrica

 - Federik

The Fadus have become more fierce due to the white ashes. They have become numb towards pain and now obsess about attacking others.

Fadus Habitat (in the Loopy Tree Forest) will now have a recommended AP of 120-190.

Monsters at Fadus Habitat now have 30% increased HP increased and 15% increased AP, but also have 10% decreased DP.

The amount of Combat EXP you obtain from monsters at Fadus Habitat has been increased by 30%, and the amount of Skill EXP you obtain from them has been increased by 25%.

The amount of "Fadus Armor Fragment" junk items you can obtain from the following monsters has been increased.

- Fadus Challenger: 1-4 → 2-4

- Fadus Shaman: 1-3 → 2-3

- Fadus Warrior: 1-3 → 2-3

When defeating monsters at Fadus Habitat, you will now have a chance to obtain Destructive Illusion and Dew of Tranquil Forest.

Fadus Warrior Chief will appear at the Fadus Habitat.

- The Fadus Warrior Chief is much stronger than the other Fadus monsters.

- Once you begin to fight the Fadus Warrior Chief, you must watch out for nearby Fadus which continue to join in on the battle.

- You can obtain the following items by defeating the Fadus Warrior Chief.

* Dew of Tranquil will be available in Polly's Forest after the future update.

Knowledge for Fadus Warrior Chief has been added.

The amount of Energy you can obtain through the knowledge of The Fadus Kind has been changed like the following.

- Before: 11x Knowledge of The Fadus Kind = Energy +1

- Now: 6x Knowledge of The Fadus Kind = Energy +1, 12x Knowledge of The Fadus Kind = Energy +2

[Developer's Comment]

Most adventurers head to Valencia after completing Mediah main quest. However, the desert of Valencia may feel as a challenge or as a stress for some Adventurers. We wanted to help the situation here and decided to provide options for Adventurers between Valencia and Kamasylvia. With the renewal of Fadus Habitat, we'll continue to make improvements. Also, Asula accessories can now be obtained in Fadus Habitat. Changes will constantly be made for unpopular places.

Fixed the issue where the DP Increase buff icon would be displayed when Nouver and Kutum are enraged.

 

Mount

Horse saddle and horseshoe have been changed so that they can no longer be equipped on a donkey.

Galleys, Epheria Sailboats, Epheria Frigates, and Old Bartali Sailboats can now be damaged if they have at least one passenger onboard who is at least Lv. 50 and has PvP activated.

Fixed the issue where you were able to move your mouse abnormally during the motions of taking the wheel on a large ship (such as Galley, Epheria Sailboat/Frigate).

When you select the tier-5 horse which can be obtained by registering the "Seal of the Secret Guards" horse emblem, it will now be properly displayed at the Stable.

Quick step motion of Donkey has been changed to running motion.

 

NPC, Background, Sound

Fixed the graphical issue where the beard of NPC Basquean Ljurik of North Kaia Pier drops down to the ground.

A ladder leading up to the top of Cron Castle has been added for the "Memorial Service for the Fallen People" quest.

If you moved to another area without completing the quest at the top, then you can climb up to the top through the following methods.

- Talk to the NPC of the Cron Castle Altar again.

- Use the ladder to go back up.

NPC Herbin at an inn in Kamasylvia has returned from the Kamasylve Temple in Mediah and she brought accessories that are possessed by power of a god. You can exchange Dew of Tranquil Forest to Asula's Crimson Eye accessories and Asula's Weakened Magic accessories via Herbin.

- You can exchange three Asula's Weakened Magic accessories for an Asula's Crimson Eye accessory via Herbin.

- You can obtain Dew of Tranquil Forest from Fadus Habitat at a certain chance.

- You can sell each Dew of Tranquil Forest at 100,000 silvers to NPC vendor and it can be exchanged to 1 Asula's Weakened Magic accessory.

The beginner's Common Rack located at Olvia and Western Guard Camp no longer has any more potions.

- Beginners can continue to obtain various helpful supplies through quests or events.

Fixed the issue where frame rates would drop when moving a character from a certain area at Mirumok Ruins.

Fixed the issue where Nella Encarotia would not disappear while playing the "Missing in Action" Calpheon main quest.

- Nella Encarotia will appear again once you complete "The Qualities of a God" quest.

Fixed the issue where characters were unable to get out of certain areas around the Gervish Mountains.

Certain NPC's at Grána have returned their weapons to the armory. These NPC's are no longer armed with weapons.

Most of the Grass Beetles which were near the dairy cows at Olvia have been relocated.

Fixed the issue where frames would drop in certain areas of Velia.

A guard walking around inside Calpheon City has been relocated.

Fixed the issue where you could not have a conversation with Bernatisha when interacting from a certain distance.

Once you complete all of the series quests, you will obtain knowledge about Seas of Peyon, Seas of Epheria, Ahrmo Sea and Node Manager of Calpheon Sea and Epheria Sea. All these knowledge together, your energy will increase by 10. (Adventurers that already obtained the knowledge under the category may not obtain additional energy)

You can obtain the quest from Black Spirit with a character that completed [Boss] Witch-Huinting or Looking for Adventurers quest.

You can read the quest guide under the Suggested tab in Quests(O) and can complete once per family.

After completing all of the series quests starting with ‘Mysterious Request’ quest, you can proceed additional quests from Falasi.

- The Sea of the Ancient Civilization

- You can select one of the quests above, and receive one of the following Bookshelf as your reward upon the quest completion with a reward title ‘The One to Bind Ties with Falasi’.

>Falasi's Bookshelf with Knowledge on Excavation (Life EXP +3% for 1 hour after interacting with the bookshelf)

>Falasi's Bookshelf with Knowledge on Hunting (Combat EXP +3% for 1 hour after interacting with the bookshelf)

New set of series quests that you can learn about Pirates in Epheria Sea, treasure and ancient civilization has been added.

- You can obtain this quest by interacting NPC Philaberto Falasi with a character that obtained the title of ‘The One to Bind Ties with Falasi’.

- Quest you can receive may differ depending on the story you tell Falasi and other quests can be accepted after you complete the ongoing quest.

- The title of ‘The One to Bind Ties with Falasi’ can be obtained when you complete the quest series of [ADV] Exploring the Calpheon Sea under the Suggested tab on Quests window (O)

* Family that told the story of ‘Sea of Marines and Pirates’ can obtain the following quests.

- Falasi's Marine

- Dangerous-looking Supplies

- Across the Moonlit Sea

- Plunder the Gray Fog!

* Family that told the story of 'The Sea of the Ancient Civilization' can obtain the following quests.

The Glorious Day knowledge has been added to Northern Calpheon Adventure Journal.

The quest objective for [Returning] Removing the Fishy Smell has been changed.

- Before: Giving David Finto Grape or Olive

- Now: Consuming Energy by interacting with the Grape Crate next to the grape tree storage.

[Developer's Comment]

We received feedback from many returning Adventurers about the difficulty in obtaining the Grape and Olive because they were already gathered while going through the returning quest. Wish this change would help your adventure to be more fun.

Changed camera perspective to capture the background more dynamically when obtaining knowledge about Barricade in Star's End.

The "Village by the Beautiful Coast" quest will not be displayed for adventurers who have completed "The Sage of Velia" before the "Village by the Beautiful Coast" quest was added. This is to prevent adventurers from being confused with the quest lines.

Title for "The Fall of the Knights of Dawn" knowledge has been changed to "The Fall of the Knights of Dawn I".

The title for "The Shadow Knights, Fraternity of Light , and the Secret Guards" knowledge has been changed to "The Fall of the Knights of Dawn II", and the contents of it has been simplified.

Fixed the typo for the knowledge description for the Waragon Nest topography.

The quest giving NPC for certain Black Spirit's Gift II quests which is accepted during the previous Balenos to Calpheon main quests has been changed to NPC that you can meet during the questline.

Changed the quest icon for "[Farming Lv. 40] Nature and Abundance" to suit the quest description better.

Fixed the issue where the Kamasylvia Weasel would occasionally not be summoned again after initially being summoned during the "[Repeat] Looking for Weasels" quest.

A quest icon will now be displayed on top of Al Rhundi when going through "The Scale of Justice" quest.

 

UI

For clarity when accepting the Adventure Journal for the Traces of the Black Spirit, the description below has been added to the conditions.

- Complete Quest [Event] Evidence of Black Spirit

The completion effect for the Complete button will now be properly displayed when completing the Black Spirit's Adventure Journal.

Fixed the issue where Attendance Reward UI would look unnatural when there are 4 Attendance Reward tabs.

It has been changed so that the warning popup message will no longer appear when moving an item enhanced to PEN level into the Central Market Warehouse.

When attempting to plant crops or place garden tools while your character is outside of a fence garden, the following message will now appear.

- Please install the item inside a fence or residence.

The description of certain guild items has been updated with the following information.

- Who can retrieve the item from the guild storage.

- The item will be erased if you leave a Guild.

- This information has replaced the information about who can use the item in certain guild item descriptions. This refers to who can retrieve the guild item from the guild warehouse.

When a Life Skill levels up, the information displayed will now be more detailed.

ex) Gathering Level Up → Reached Gathering Beginner 2.

When purchasing the Appearance Coupon from the Customization window (F4) while in Toggle UI mode, the purchase window can now be closed by pressing the ESC key.

Fixed an issue where a list of other items was displayed in certain situations when placing an order for Volatile Price Items at the Central Market.

Fixed an issue where the weight of the current mount would be displayed in the Max Load information for the mount information at the Wharf.

When you select a tab or check a checkbox, the color of the text for the checked tab or checkbox will now change so that it is more clear that you have checked it.

The text for the following buttons has been changed as follows.

- Switch Menu button on old ESC menu → Switch to New Menu

- Switch Menu button on new ESC menu → Switch to Old Menu

The description which appears when you press the recover button in the Worker List window has been changed to the following.

- Shift + RMB the item to recover Stamina. → Press Shift + RMB on the item to recover Worker Stamina.

The weight information for the mount you call from the Wharf will now be properly displayed.

Fixed an issue in the Find NPC window where clicking on the Imperial Delivery icon would make it disappear.

When using a skill registered on the skill guide widget, the effect which shows that the skill has been used will now be properly displayed.

Customizing Info with no registered creator's name will now show - next to the Crafter name.

Fixed the issue where the recognition of higher grade gears often incorrect.


The creator name for PEN items will now remain even after selling or buying them from the Central Market.

Reduced the price gap between items bought individually and items included in Pearl outfit sets.
