Skill Hit Rework
1. Introduction
Skill hit amounts have been reduced as an attempt to boost FPS and lower server latency!
- As skills have lower attack hits, their damage has been increased so the damage remains similar
- Accuracy, Evasion and Damage reduction have received a rework that effects all classes
- There has also been changes to the damage classes take while in Super Armor or guarding
- Hit amounts have been reduced by approximately 70-80% compared to previously.
2. Accuracy, Damage Reduction and Evasion Changes
Accuracy, Damage Reduction, and Evasion have received reworks to their core functions and their scaling, this was done because simply increasing damage and accuracy rates felt unbalanced.
There'll be a summary of the changes and then display the tables afterwards which show some of the numerical changes.
Evasion Rework
Evasion received some changes in the way that it functions, mostly in the way that it reacts when an attack is successfully dodged.
In summary, because skills have less skill hits now, the old system of evasion would be too strong because it would allow you to fully dodge a greater amount of damage.
As a basic example, if a skill previously had 10 hits, dodging 1 attack would be avoiding 10% of the skills damage.
If that same skill was changed to have 5 hits instead of 10, dodging 1 of the 5 skill hits would result in avoiding 20% of the damage.
Just from this alone you can see how the old Evasion might scale out of control, especially as Evasion is not limited to only one dodge per skill.
Damage Reduction Rework
As people were giving feedback on dying too quickly in PvP, changes to Evasion and Damage Reduction have been made to attempt to combat being one shot.
Depending on your defense stats, you will now receive a "Bonus Damage Reduction" effect, similar to how AP brackets currently work.
This damage reduction does not take effect for shield classes with improved rear resistance during Forward Guard.
Shield classes also have been given extra additional damage reduction on forward guard skills when using their respective specialization skills. (Example: Succession Nova using Succession skills.)
There has also been an adjustment to the damage reduction effect on guard gauge for the following classes while using certain Forward Guard skills.
Accuracy Changes
Accuracy, Damage Reduction and Evasion related to classes and items have been adjusted. Basically, classes stats have been made simpler to make things more balanced across the board.
Because of these changes, accuracy modifiers on skills have also been changed. This is because previously some classes just had higher accuracy rates than others
For a full list of the accuracy changes across all classes, you can check the patch notes here!
Class Accuracy has been changed from 383 to 417 when reaching level 50, as you level from 1-50 you will gain passive stat accuracy.
3. On Hit Effect Changes
Because of the reduction in hit amounts on skills, on hit effects were less effective, as such they've been buffed to remain in line with their previous effects.
