Navigating the boundless ocean aboard a grand ship is a dream for many of you adventurers. We understand that the journey to upgrade to a Carrack through various large ships can be a bit daunting. That's why in today's update, we've eased the barter process, streamlined quest progression, and simplified item acquisition to make the ocean more accessible and enjoyable for all.

 

Key updates include reducing the refresh cooldown for barter, increasing opportunities to obtain upgrade materials, simplifying quest objectives, and lessening the burden of land-based materials.

 

For those adventurers who've dreamt of the Great Ocean, we hope this update brings you closer to realizing your dreams. And for our seasoned captains who are already sailing the high seas, we hope these changes make your voyages even more enjoyable and convenient.

Barter (Trade Exchange)
Barter Refresh Cooldown
The waiting time to refresh the barter item list has been reduced.
Accordingly, the cooldown of the Crow's Trade Voucher, which can increase parley, has also been reduced.
  • Adjusted the waiting time to refresh the barter list from 4 hours to 2 hours.
 
  • Adjusted the cooldown of the Crow's Trade Voucher from 4 hours to 2 hours, allowing for a quicker recovery of parley following the reduced refresh time for the barter list.
 

 
Material Exchange (Refresh Points, Exchange Times)
The "Ship Material Refresh", which is used when ship upgrade materials are needed, has seen a decrease in consumed points.
Moreover, the number of exchanges per item on each island has increased, allowing you to obtain more material items with less burden.

Cooking/Alchemy Failure Improvement

In the past, during Cooking or Alchemy, it was all too easy to mix up ingredients or accidentally use fewer ingredients, leaving you in a bind when everything was used up. Now, improvements have been made so that your ingredients won't be wasted in such mistakes.
  • Improved the system that consumes ingredients when the type or quantity of ingredients is insufficient during cooking or alchemy at your residence as follows.

  • Reduced the minigame duration for taming a wild horse from 11 sec to 6 sec, allowing you to tame faster than before.

1st Black Stone Simplification

In today's update, we've streamlined the Black Stones, just as we promised. Previously, different Black Stones were used depending on the type of weapon or armor. Now, we've consolidated them into a single type for each category. Given that Black Stones have been a staple in Black Desert and a constant companion to our adventurers, we're ensuring they remain useful across all game aspects.

 

Today's update is the first phase of this simplification, focusing on usage, crafting recipes, and exchange formulas. In the next phase, we'll streamline the methods for acquiring these items, encompassing various game content, quests, login rewards, boxes, and packages.

 

As part of this first phase, we've unified the enhancement materials that were previously divided between weapons and armor. Until the second phase of simplification is implemented, you can exchange any existing armor enhancement Black Stones you obtain via the Black Spirit.

 

Once all these simplifications are complete, we'll also update the names of the enhancement materials to reflect these changes.

  • Simplified the "Black Stone (Weapon/Armor)", "Sharp/Hard Black Crystal Shard", "Concentrated Magical Black Stone (Weapon/Armor)".

    • Use Dehkia's Lantern at certain locations in Roud Sulfur Mine, and the Lava tribes will awaken in a chaotic state.

MOUNT

  • Changed Doom and Mythical Doom so that when they hit an enemy through the S: Instant Accel, Dark Sprint, and Infernal Sprint, flames are not created on the surrounding floor.
  • Fixed the issue where the checkbox for auto-activating movement-related skills was displayed when mounting a sea mount that does not have the skills.

NODE/CONQUEST WAR

The Node War duration in certain regions has been shortened where wars tended to end relatively early. Please note that there are no plans to shorten the duration of any currently active Node Wars in the regions you are playing in.
 

UI

The old menu, which has been maintained since September 2017 when the new menu was updated, is scheduled to be removed during the first maintenance of May.

 

During the process of expanding content within Black Desert, there are times where we integrate existing elements for better quality of life, but there are also times where we must remove older content to make way for new content.
We understand there were some adventurers who still use the old menu, but we feel this is necessary to provide you with better access to future content, so we hope you understand.

  • The old menu is expected to end about a month later, after the maintenance in the first week of May.
 
  • Fixed so that clicking the "Align Left" or "Align Right" button in the menu would immediately show the change.
    • Fixed the issue where the cursor does not change when adjusting size after setting "Align Right" in the menu.

 

  • Changed the display method for easier confirmation of item count when the number of items in storage exceeds 100,000.
    • e.g., if you have 123,456 of a single item, it will be displayed as "123.4K".
    • e.g., if you have 123,456,789of a single item, it will be displayed as "123.4M".
 

 

  • Improved the Monster Zone Info UI to now display usable locations for the Dehkia's Lantern in the following two monster zones.
    • Added a "Fixed Dehkia's Lantern Summon Location" tag to the following monster zones in Monster Zone Info.
