1. What is Node War?

■ 1. What is Node War?

Node War is RvR content where guilds (and alliances) compete for supremacy over various nodes found scattered across the Black Desert world.

The stage for Node War is spread across nodes in different territories, which includes Balenos, Serendia, Calpheon, Ulukita, Valencia, and Edania.

The main objective of Node War is to fight against other guilds to capture and occupy a fort, and then defend it until the end time of each fort to be crowned victorious.

Node War takes place every day from 9 PM to 10 PM, except for Saturdays when Siege Wars take place.
In addition to the above, each territory has its own set of stat limits.

The table below summarizes territories in which Node War takes place and information on their respective stat limits.
When planning to join a Node War, consider if the number of participants and average equipment score of your guild matches, and prepare to experience the thrill of a fierce battle.

  • Unrelated to levels from previous Node Wars, the level of a fort determines the amount of tax collected upon occupation. Higher levels mean more tax revenue.
    • Higher-level forts are at the heart of the territory where the Node War takes place.
※ The number of active forts in each territory is determined by the number of participating guilds (alliances).

2. Rules and How to Participate

■ 2-1. Register for Participation

To participate in Node Wars, you must first register.

Once you've applied to a specific territory group, you will receive confirmation to participate in one of the two territories in the group.

Node War Days & Time
War Days Sunday - Friday (excluding Saturday)
Time 21:00 - 22:00 (1 hour)
How to Participate in Node Wars
Registration Time From 11PM the day before the onset of war until 1 hour before war begins
Registration Method
Guild (or alliance) officer or higher can select & register
territory to participate in via Menu (ESC) - War (F7) - Node War

[Territory Groups]
- Balenos/Serendia
- Calpheon/Ulukita
- Valencia/Edania
Registration Results
Territory is confirmed 15 minutes before war begins on war day, and once confirmed, a message displaying the result will appear.
※ Guild members can register by pressing "Participate/No" under the Participate column in the Guild (G) - Guild Member Status window.
After applying to join a Node War Territory Group, you can pre-register for the Node War in one of the two servers associated with that Territory Group.
(Allocation of Territory Group and participating guilds is confirmed 15 mins prior to the start of Node War. You cannot change your participation status to "No" during this time.)
※ If a Guild/Alliance cancels their Node War application, the participation status of all members will be reset to "No".

Registration Results
  • Territory is confirmed 15 minutes before war begins on war day, and once confirmed, a message displaying the result will appear.
    • The assigned territory for your guild can also be checked under Menu (ESC) - War (F7) - Node War.

Moving Once Node War Starts
  • When the Node War begins, Adventurers affiliated with a Guild participating in the Node War will be randomly teleported to one of the resurrection points within the Combat Zone of the Node War Territory.
      • Adventurers from Guilds not participating in the Node War or War Correspondents will not be moved.
※ After a Node War starts, the Focus Node War Participation System will be applied.
- In servers where a Node War is ongoing, all Adventurers who are not participating in the Node War will have their DP set to 0.
- Non-participants from Guilds that have joined the Node War will be forcibly moved to the nearest town if they approach the area where the Node War is taking place.

■ 2-2. Node War Rules

A set number of forts will be activated at random locations based on the number of guilds who have applied to participate in the Node War within that territory. Each activated fort will have a set "end time," and the guild occupying a fort at the end of this duration will become its owner.

The entire territory now serves as the stage to Node Wars. The number of activated forts depends on the number of participating guilds.

Assemble!

  • The "Assemble!" feature for Node War will automatically be displayed in the top right corner of the screen on the Node War server 10 minutes before the war starts.
    • Pressing the "Assemble!" icon will move each participating guild to predetermined locations in the territory's towns.
The "Assemble!" feature will be displayed only when connected to the participating Node War server and will be activated 10 minutes before the war starts.

Resurrection

  • When resurrecting during a Node War, your fallen mount will also resurrect with you.
  • When your character dies, you can choose to resurrect at predetermined locations in the towns of each territory.
    • Balenos: Velia, Western Guard Camp, Olvia
    • Serendia: Heidel, Glish
    • Calpheon: Calpheon City, Keplan, Behr
    • Ulukita: Asparkan, Muzgar, Velandir
    • Valencia: Valencia City, Ancado Inner Harbor, Arehaza
    • Edania: Hakinza Sanctuary
※ The following rules apply to the resurrection cooldown during Node War:
The default resurrection cooldown is 10 seconds, which can increase up to a maximum of 30 seconds.
This cooldown grows by 1 second each minute the Node War progresses, and by an additional 1 second for each death.

Activation of Neutral Forts Based on Participating Guilds

  • The number of nodes activated at the start of a Node War in each territory varies depending on the number of guilds (alliances) participating.
    • Nodes that will be activated are randomly selected daily from the designated node forts for each territory.
Example:
If 3 guilds are confirmed to participate in the Balenos region, 1 Node Fort will be activated.
If 4 guilds are confirmed to participate in the Balenos region, 2 Node Fort will be activated.
If 5 guilds are confirmed to participate in the Balenos region, 2 Node Fort will be activated.
If 6 guilds are confirmed to participate in the Balenos region, 3 Node Fort will be activated.
For each territory, the number of guilds confirmed to participate can range from a minimum of 1 to a maximum of more than 30, and accordingly, the number of forts activated can range from a minimum of 1 to a maximum of 15.

If 5 or fewer guilds/alliances apply to a territory group, Node War will open in only 1 territory in that group. The number of active forts will follow the existing fort activation rules. For example, if 5 or fewer guilds/alliances apply to the Balenos/Serendia group, Node War will open in either Balenos or Serendia only.

※ Notes on territory splitting
If fewer than 50% of a guild's or alliance's members set Node War participation to "Yes" by 15 minutes before the start, that guild/alliance will not count toward territory splitting.

- Example 1: 5 participating guilds/alliances = All enter Balenos

- Example 2: 6 participating guilds/alliances = 3 enter Balenos, 3 enter Serendia

- Example 3: 7 guilds/alliances, but 2 have fewer than half of their members set to participate = Counted as 5 guilds/alliances, and all 7 enter Balenos

※ As before, at least 10 guild members must be online to apply for Node War. If fewer than half of the participants press the participation button 10 minutes before the war, the guild can still join the war, but will not affect fort activation rules.

Tier 5 Node Fort activated near the Omar Lava Cave node

Types of Node Forts & End Times

  • The tiers of activated node forts are as follows, with their "end times" set randomly.
    • The higher the tier, the closer the node's location to the territory's center, as well as with greater rewards.
    • Once the end time of a fort expires, the last guild to have held occupancy will be deemed the final occupying guild.
  • If the last remaining fort has more than 10 minutes left, its timer will change to a question mark and its remaining time will reset.
    • Example: If at 9:30 PM the last remaining fort is scheduled to end at 9:45 PM, it has more than 10 min left, so it changes to a question mark and its final closing time is randomly set between 9:40 PM and 10:00 PM.
    • Occupying a fort after it changes to a Question Mark grants extra rewards.

Node War Status Widget

  • Once the Node War begins, you can check the number of activated nodes, their end times, and their durability through the world map and a widget on the upper right-hand portion of the screen.
    • The node status widget will display whether a node in the territory is neutral/occupied/liberated/exited, as well as their respective end times calculated in minutes.
    • You can check the durability of each node fort through the fort icons on the Node Status Widget. And their current durability in percentage terms can be seen by hovering over the node fort info on the widget.
    • The border around a fort icon on the widget indicates the remaining time until the end of the fort. Brief information can be viewed by hovering over the widget, and detailed information can be checked through the World Map.
World Ma Node Status Widget Durability Check via Mouse Over

Node War Temporary Occupation: Fort Destruction

  • Once the Node War begins, attacking a neutral fort until its durability is depleted will grant temporary occupation to the aggressor guild.
    • Forts occupied by your guild will be highlighted in blue on the world map.
    • All participating guilds can check occupied nodes and occupying guilds via the node status widget.
    • If another guild attacks an occupied fort and depletes its durability, the new guild will temporarily occupy the fort.
※ Temporarily occupied forts cannot be dismantled.

Node War Fort Repairs

  • Guilds/alliances can repair occupied forts using the following item:
Node War Fort Repair Tool
Polished Stone x1
(recovers 1% durability of a fort/command post/HQ)

Node War Final Occupation: Hold 'til End Times
  • The guild who remains the last temporary occupant of a node up until its end time will become the final occupant.
    • A guild that achieves final occupancy will be deemed victorious in the Node War and terminate their participation in the war effective immediately.
      • Each guild can achieve final occupancy of one fort per day during Node Wars (and a victorious guild's participants will leave the war immediately.)
        • If a guild is occupying multiple forts, the first fort to be held until its end time expires will be deemed for final occupation, while the rest of the forts will be reverted to neutral status.
    • Node War rewards are promptly distributed to Guild Funds and the Black Spirit's Safe.

When Node War Ends
  • The following rules apply once a Node War ends:
    • The "Return" function will be activated immediately in the top right of the display for the affected Territory when a Node War ends.
    • 10 minutes after a Node War ends, monsters will reappear in said Territory.
    • PvP between participating Guilds/Alliances will cease immediately after a Node War ends.
    • Any remaining annex buildings will be immediately destroyed in the affected Territory when a Node War ends.

■ 2-3. Node War Annexes and Siege Weapons

  • Once a Node War starts, you can construct designated annex using Annex Assembly Tools
  • Purchase "Annex Assembly Tool" and "Node War Lynch Cannon Assembly Kit" from a Guild Military Supply Manager in each town.
    • Annexes Node War Lynch Cannons can be installed by the adventurers in the following positions:
          • War Heroes cannot install annexes or Node War Lynch Cannons.

■ 3-3. Benefits from Occupying Nodes

Doubled Node Investment Benefits (Across Entire Territory Group)

  • When occupied, Node Investment Benefits for the entire Territory to which the Node belongs to, and other Territories within the same group, will be doubled for one week.
(For example, if you occupy a Tier 3 Fort in a Calpheon territory Node War, the Node Investment Benefits for both Calpheon and Kamasylvia regions will be doubled for one week.)
    • If you then participate in a Node War and reoccupy a Node within the same Territory, the period of doubled Node Investment Benefits will be reset.
    • The remaining time of double Node Investment Benefits can be checked in the right side of the Guild (G) window under Occupation Information.
Example
When occupying the Pilgrim's Sanctum: Obedience Node Fort in Valencia,
all Node Investment Benefits in Mediah/Valencia are doubled,
increasing the Item Drop Rate for all Monster Zones within Mediah/Valencia that receive Node Investment Benefits.
※ What are Node Investment Benefits? Increased Item Drop Rate +0.5% per Node Investment Level when defeating certain monsters.
- For example, if the Node Level of Gyfin Rhasia Temple is 20, the Item Drop Rate for Monsters at Gyfin Rhasia Temple (Upper/Underground) will be increased by +10%.
- If doubled due to Node occupation, the Item Drop Rate for Monsters at Gyfin Rhasia Temple (Upper/Underground) will be increased by +20%.

■ 3-4. Family Buff Benefits

Family Buff Benefits

  • When a guild participates in or wins a Node War, a powerful buff effect is applied for 2 days (48 hours). Through the buff effect obtained by cooperating with guild members in the Node War, you can prepare for the next Node War and enjoy better hunting and life even after the battle ends.
This buff effect does not stack or increase in duration, and is refreshed upon participation in or victory in a Node War.

  • Valencia/Edania Node War victory buff

For example, if you receive participation rewards in a Balenos/Serendia Node War, the buff effect will apply. If you then win a Valencia/Edania Node War the next day and receive victory rewards, the previous effect will be removed and the new buff effect will apply.

Important Things to Know

We have explored the ways to participate in Node War and the rewards and benefits that await you. Now, let's delve into the specific rules that govern Node War.

While it is not necessary to know every detail to excel in Node War, understanding these rules can greatly assist in preparing and strategizing for the battles to come.

For adventurers who prefer to review only the rules of Node War, we have compiled them for your convenience.

1. Common Rules for Node/Conquest Wars

1 When victorious in a Node/Conquest War and occupying a node, the accumulated taxes are automatically collected by the occupying guild/alliance.
2 If an allied fort/command post/field HQ is destroyed during the Node/Conquest War, you are no longer considered as participants and cannot attack participating guilds/alliances.
3
During the Node/Conquest War, guild wars are restricted on the server, and attacks can only be carried out according to the rules of Node/Conquest War.
4 During the Node/Conquest War, there are no penalties for death in PvP encounters between participating guilds/alliances.
5 During the Node/Conquest War, even when wearing camouflage outfits (Treant Camouflage, Desert Camouflage), your identity is exposed.
6 From 1 hour before the start of the Node War (2 hours for the Conquest War) until its completion, all participating guilds/alliances are unable to recruit new members.

2. Node War Rules

1

Lord’s guild can participate in the Node war up to 6 times a week.

Each guild/alliance has one weekly opportunity to participate in the Node War, with the chance to participate again after meeting the minimum requirement for opportunity return.

The minimum requirement is achieved when the total kill/death count is 100 or more for the adventurer's guild/alliance during the Node War. Failure to meet this requirement will result in no opportunity return. (Note: Node War opportunities are reset every Saturday at 24:00 and a new opportunity is granted.)

2 Node Wars are held in the following regions: Balenos, Serendia, Calpheon, Ulukita, Valencia, and Edania. Each region has its own designated servers for the wars.
3 When the war ends, all guilds/alliances' annexes are demolished.
4 Guilds/alliances should consider restrictions on the number of participants and their stats when choosing Territory Group to participate in.
5 Once the territory for the Node War is allocated, you can check the information of the guild/alliance participating in that territory via the Node War menu.
6 Should a neutral fort stand unoccupied at the end of the Node War, the node of that fort will be liberated.
7 Victorious guilds/alliances will acquire the taxes accumulated from the occupied node and can obtain the personal victory reward. (Note: The personal reward can only be obtained if the minimum requirement for the opportunity return is met.)
8 Two exclusive guild skills, Breath of Life and Blessing of Battle can be activated by consuming Spirit of Battle while temporarily occupying a fort, and their effects are only applied in the vicinity of the temporarily occupied fort.

Node Wars offer various benefits and rewards, but it's also an opportunity to experience the thrill of guild-scale group PvP and build strong bonds with guild members.

Even if your gear may not be exceptional, you can participate in the appropriate tier of Node Wars and engage in intense battles. And with an arsenal of siege weapons at your disposal, there's ample opportunity to shine.

We look forward to witnessing your splendid performance on the Node Wars battlefield!
