Shakatu bought this peaceful land for his beloved Taphtar. But now, the Centaurus roam the land.
Shakatu was furious and put up a bounty to have them exterminated. However, the Centaurus were too fast for the Katan Military to do anything.
The Centaurus live here because deep within the plain they have a sacred inheritance handed down to them by their ancestors, the ‘Burning Black Stone’.

1) Basic Monster Information
We’ll briefly go over the monster level and the type of monsters you’ll encounter in Taphtar Plain (Centaurus).
Monster level: Mostly level 52~61
Melee: Centaurus, Centaurus Hunter, Centaurus Axeman
Ranged: Guard Tower of Earth
Others: Centaurus Treasure Chest
2) Features
- Taphtar Plain is located by the entrance of the desert, Barhan Gateway.
- You could die here while passing through on your horse, so be careful!
- You don’t have to worry about desert illness since it is not a desert.
Level/Equipment Requirements
Taphtar Plain is a level 2 if we divided all the grinding spots in Valencia to level 1, 2, and 3.
The Centaurus have high attack, defense, and movement speed, so it is a good idea to start grinding here a little above the recommended AP/DP.
※ If you didn’t awaken your character yet, add +10 to the minimum/recommended AP and DP.
For example, if you have 185 AP and 240 DP, try to aim for 195~ AP and 240~ DP.

Strategy
1) Things to Look Out For
The Centaurus is one of the most difficult monsters to you’ll face in Valencia.
They are hard to kill, because they are quick and have high resistance against knock down effects.
You might have to spam your potions to survive while fighting 6-7 of them on an open field. It’s a good idea to lure the Centaurus and Centuarus Axemen towards the Centaurus Hunter.
Try killing them individually first, then slowly progress into killing groups.
2) Hunting Spots and Route
There aren’t any key locations to take note of since Centaurus are easily found west of the Barhan Gateway.

The quest into Valencia will lead you to the Centaurus.
Hunting in Taphtar Plain is like a test to see if you can survive in Valencia. You don’t need to face them as group, you just need to be able kill them individually.
There aren’t a lot of adventurers that hunt Centaurus specifically. Although you can acquire the Centaurus Belt from Taphtar Plain, the Basilisk’s Belt is much more popular choice.
Still, there is a chance that their popularity might change in the future, and the Centaurus Belt could be preferred.
